How to use Wiki Nation Map

Search for a country, region, city or place in the box at the top left. Pick a result to jump to that part of the world and add a location marker.

You can also click or tap any country on the map. A short facts popup opens with the country flag, population, size, population density, GDP and GDP per capita.

The selected country is highlighted, so it is easy to see which country the popup belongs to. Click the same country again, or use Close in the popup, to remove the selection.

Use Options to change the map style or to force English country names. Otherwise, country names follow the visitor's browser language when possible.

Country facts come from World Bank Open Data and use the latest available year for each indicator. If no World Bank figure is published, the popup shows “-”. World Bank metadata.

Use the download button to save the current map view as a PNG. If a country facts popup is open, the same short scrollable popup view will be included in the downloaded image.

Privacy statement

MarkAndMap Country Facts Map lets you click countries to load public country facts. Search requests are sent to LocationIQ so the page can find coordinates for countries, regions, cities or places.

Country facts are loaded in your browser from embedded World Bank Open Data, with live World Bank requests only as a fallback. The map does not store selected countries on MarkAndMap servers.

On vertical mobile screens, the map may initially center roughly on your part of the world using your browser’s local time-zone/UTC offset. This is calculated locally in your browser and does not use GPS, does not request your precise browser location, and does not require a separate IP geolocation request.

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data via cookies, only if you allow cookies. No personally identifiable information is collected by MarkAndMap through this page. You can opt out when loading the page or through the "Cookies" button.

This page does not use GPS or request your precise browser location.
