How to use Wiki Nation Map

This map uses the Equal Earth projection, an equal-area projection that keeps countries' relative areas correctly proportioned. It was developed by Bojan Šavrič, Tom Patterson and Bernhard Jenny.

Search for a country, region, city or place in the box at the top left. Pick a result to jump to that part of the world and add a location marker.

You can also click or tap any country on the map. A short facts popup opens with the country flag, population, size, population density, GDP and GDP per capita.

The selected country is highlighted, so it is easy to see which country the popup belongs to. Click the same country again, or use Close in the popup, to remove the selection.

Use Options to change the map style or to force English country names. Otherwise, country names follow the visitor's browser language when possible.

Country facts come from World Bank Open Data and use the latest available year for each indicator. If no World Bank figure is published, the popup shows “-”. World Bank metadata.

Use the download button to save the current map view as a PNG. If a country facts popup is open, the same short scrollable popup view will be included in the downloaded image.

Privacy statement

MarkAndMap Country Facts Map lets you click countries to load public facts. Search terms are sent directly from your browser to LocationIQ when you search for a country, region, city or place. Country details can be requested from Wikipedia in your browser language, and country statistics come from embedded World Bank Open Data with live World Bank requests as a fallback.

Selected countries and searches are not saved to your MarkAndMap account or stored on MarkAndMap servers. External data, map and content-delivery providers receive normal request information such as your IP address when your browser contacts them.

On vertical mobile screens, the map may initially center roughly on your part of the world using your browser’s local time-zone/UTC offset. This is calculated locally in your browser and does not use GPS, does not request your precise browser location, and does not require a separate IP geolocation request.

Optional Google Analytics is loaded only if you accept Analytics cookies. Advertising features are disabled, and you can change your choice through “Cookie settings.”

No ads. MarkAndMap does not sell personal information, searches or selected-country data. This page does not use GPS or request your precise browser location. Privacy policy · Cookies and local storage
