Free country quiz on an equal-area world map.
Play a quick Equal Earth country challenge and see how well you really know the world. The game shows you a country name for you to identify on a world map.
It is great for school, geography practice, quiz nights, classrooms, curious kids, map nerds, GeoGuessr players who want something different, YouTubers making geography videos, and anyone who just likes testing their brain with maps.
Easy and Medium omit countries that are too small at the starting map scale. Hard and All include small countries present in the base map; zoom in to select them. Countries missing from that map are not asked.
The map uses the Equal Earth projection, an equal-area world map projection developed by Bojan Šavrič, Tom Patterson and Bernhard Jenny. It preserves the relative area of countries, unlike Mercator maps, while keeping continent shapes recognizable. At higher zoom levels, the map can switch to a more detailed country layer; this uses a lighter detail layer for smoother performance, especially on mobile.
Use Options to choose region, difficulty, map style, and whether country names should be shown in English or in your browser language. The default is All world and Easy.
Click or tap a country on the map to select it. Easy, Medium, and Hard each ask you to find 10 randomly selected countries in your chosen region. Endurance uses the full country pool. A wrong answer ends the game.
Finish 10 correct answers to see the score popup and the countries you found. Continue with another game, share the page, or save the popup with the map as a PNG image.
