Cookies and local storage

MarkAndMap uses necessary browser storage for requested features and optional cookies for audience measurement. Optional Analytics is not loaded unless you select “Accept analytics.” Declining Analytics does not prevent you from using the site or logging in.
Your choice
Use the persistent Cookie settings control on any map page to review or change your choice. Withdrawing consent immediately disables Analytics for the current page and removes accessible MarkAndMap Analytics cookies.

Equal Earth Viewer, Equal Earth World Map (formerly TrueSize), Equal Earth Country Game, Country Facts and World Cup selections, guesses and temporary map markers are not retained in MarkAndMap browser storage. They normally disappear when the page is reloaded.
Information used for Analytics
After consent, Analytics may process page views, interactions, browser/device information and approximate geography. Advertising storage, ad personalisation and Google Signals are disabled in the site configuration. MarkAndMap does not intentionally send account email addresses, saved-map names, marker text, addresses or precise location coordinates as Analytics event parameters.
Necessary storage
Storage required for a feature you request—such as maintaining a login session or remembering your cookie choice—is not used for advertising. Browser-location storage is created only in connection with location functionality and can be removed through browser controls.
Browser controls
You can also delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser. Removing authentication storage will log you out. Removing userLocation clears the locally cached location. Browser geolocation permission is controlled separately in your browser or device settings.
