The MarkAndMap Equal Earth World Map is made for showing the world with correctly proportioned country areas. Previously called the TrueSize World Map, it uses the Equal Earth projection, an equal-area world map projection that avoids the extreme size distortion of common Mercator maps.
Equal Earth was developed by Bojan Šavrič, Tom Patterson and Bernhard Jenny. Its curved outline suggests the globe, while straight parallels and recognizable continent shapes make the map easy to read. Learn about the Equal Earth projection.

To compare a country's true relative area with its enlarged Mercator appearance, try Equal Earth Viewer.
Click or tap the map to add a country label. If that country already has a label or marker, the previous one is removed first. You can also search for a country, region, city, or place using the search field. Tap an added label or marker to remove it, or hold it briefly to drag it.
Use the map style menu to choose different visual versions of the country map, such as colors, atlas shading, outlines, monochrome, and dark borders. At higher zoom levels the map can switch to a more detailed country layer; on mobile this uses a lighter detail layer for smoother performance. Use the download button to save a clean PNG image.
Country labels use the visitor's browser language when possible. Turn on English country names in Options to force English labels.
The original MarkAndMap is better when you want a detailed local map with streets, addresses, satellite view, parking spots, meeting points, vacation locations, or presentation markers. The Equal Earth World Map is better for global or regional maps and is also a fun tool for learning country names.
