How to use the FIFA Ranking Map

Explore the official FIFA men’s football ranking published on 20 July 2026. Darker colors mean a higher ranking, with number 1 the highest. Gray countries are not in this ranking.

This map uses the Equal Earth projection, which preserves countries’ relative areas. It was developed by Bojan Šavrič, Tom Patterson and Bernhard Jenny.

Click or tap a colored country, or search by country name, team code or rank. The popup shows its rank, ranking points, historical best rank and best World Cup finish. Tap the same country again, or Close, to clear the selection. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are separate football teams.

Years show the most recent year in which the team achieved its best rank or World Cup finish. Best ranks cover FIFA’s published ranking history from 1992 onward. World Cup records include the 2026 tournament and recognized predecessor teams, including West Germany, Yugoslavia, the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia and the Dutch East Indies.

Use Options to change the color scale or use English country names. Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom, download a PNG, or use Share to copy this page’s link.

Privacy statement

This FIFA Ranking Map uses bundled public ranking data and World Cup records. Country search runs locally in your browser. Selected countries are not saved to a MarkAndMap account or server.

Map library, flag and content-delivery providers receive normal request information, such as your IP address, when your browser contacts them.

On vertical mobile screens, the map may initially center roughly on your part of the world using your browser’s local time-zone/UTC offset. This is calculated locally in your browser and does not use GPS, does not request your precise browser location, and does not require a separate IP geolocation request.

Optional Google Analytics is loaded only if you accept Analytics cookies. Advertising features are disabled, and you can change your choice through “Cookie settings.”
