Recent additions and improvements to MarkAndMap.

30 September 2026 – New guides, family history and a clearer interface

• For schools: Classroom activity ideas and guidance for exploring geography with MarkAndMap.
• Maps overview: Discover the different map tools, with previews and ideas to help you choose where to start.
• Ancestors (WIP): Mapping family history was one of the first ambitions for MarkAndMap, and it is finally getting its own focus. Add names and stories to meaningful places, choose a classic or modern look, and save or share your family map. Still a work in progress.
• UI improvements: Clearer navigation, smoother scrolling in More maps, and refined ancestor name boxes, fonts and matching green pins.

5 August 2026 – Accounts and saved maps

MarkAndMap now lets you save maps to a free account. Creating an account is optional—the main map tools continue to work without logging in.

• Create a free account using an email address and password.
• Save up to 10 maps and access them from your other devices.
• Open, edit, update, rename, reorder and delete saved maps.
• Recently saved maps appear first in the saved-maps list.
• Share an interactive map link that recipients can open without an account.
• Choose from refreshed marker designs, including hearts and green dots.
• Use clearer privacy and cookie controls. MarkAndMap has no ads and does not sell personal information or saved-map data.

Also improved

• More reliable login-session recovery and saved-map loading.
• Cleaner account, map and sharing controls on desktop and mobile.
• High-resolution map downloads and clearer map-sharing explanations.
